Soap Opera Pitch Script (Group Planning)

Before the day of the pitch, we had to make sure we planned a good script, which we could then present to the group, allowing them to give us feedback on what they thought was good about our plans, and what we also need to think about to improve our development on our soap trailer. Each member of the group had to explain different sections about what we had planned, and what we were still thinking about adding to our plans. Below is a copy of the script that we had planned days before our pitch/presentation.

Seb:
  • Introduced the pitch by telling the audience what the name of our soap was (Bargroves) and also telling what channel we have decided to release our soap opera on, which was BBC1. He also mentioned the roles each member had within the group.
David:
  • Me myself role within the pitch was to explain to the group about the location photos that we have gathered together so far. I had to to tell the group what the locations were and why we decided to use these particular locations. The reason why we decided to use these locations was because they fit with the stories (issues) within our soap trailer (see location photos post for more information).
Dalian:
  • Dalian's role within the pitch was to explain the target audience we had decided to aim our soap at, and why we decided to aim our soap trailer at an audience at the age of 16-24. As our soap trailer was going to consist of characters around this age group, we thought that a target audience like this would be more beneficial as people this age would be able to relate to the issues raised within the soap.
Philip:
  • Philips role was to talk about the characters that we had gathered together so fair, and their roles that they were going to face within the soap trailer.
